Validation / Execution of a Will

The Required documents for petitions regarding the “Validation and/or probating and Execution of a Will” in the probate records of the Eccl. Court



1) Printed application of the applicant (petitioner) includes all the information about the Clause of Will, asking to validate/probate and/or execute the will according to the protocol number with which it was registered, followed by contact information and address of the applicant (petitioner) in case of the need of any clarifications about any information.



2) A certificate issued by the parish priest stating clearly the names of the legal in succession heirs.


3) The approval of all the legal in succession heirs is needed, for the expletion of procedures of executing the Will.


4) A duly certified image replica of the distribution of inheritance if existing, and/or the appliance of a distribution of inheritance petition for the divisor in the event that none has been issued after the divisor had deceased, and in this case all the required documents mentioned in the article regarding petition for “distribution of inheritance order” should be submitted.


5) Payment of the requested fees according to the fees list issued by the Court.


***NOTE: the Ecclesiastical Court of the Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem doesn’t recognize, nor shall execute any “Will” that have not been registered in its Probate Records. All the above mentioned documents should be submitted to the Court. Any petition that does not meet the requirements/conditions will be rejected, as the Court may request other documents if and when deemed necessary.
